Breckenridge is a magical city perfect for kids of all ages. No matter the season, we always have the best adventures just waiting. If you are looking for a place where you can go no matter the weather, I think I have just the spot! As a Breckenridge family photographer, I spend a lot of time telling families all about the best local places. Here is why I think you are going to absolutely love the Breckenridge Children’s Museum!
100 S. Park Ave, Unit C100, Breckenridge, Colorado 80424
Since 2001, Breckenridge Children’s Museum has been a favorite spot for both travelers and locals. They got their start as a place determined to teach kids all about science. They hosted family nights and had a few pretty spectacular exhibits. Things really got exciting, however, in 2007 when they started hosting their Kids Night Out program during the ski season. With this space, parents now had the ability to drop their kids off for a bit before enjoying some time alone. They continue to host these events while also growing the museum. Whether you’re staying with your child or dropping them off, you can count on them making some amazing memories while they’re here!
Breckenridge Children’s Museum offers hands-on exhibits that are guaranteed to ignite your child’s imagination. It’s a wonderful space ideal for kids from birth through the age of 12. They can learn how to conduct emergency missions with the Mountain Top Medical Center or find out about local critters with the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Exhibit. There is a Creation Station where kids will have the supplies to create whatever they want. Meanwhile, the Wonder Lab will teach them about light with a glow-in-the-dark board. They have STEM-based exhibits, construction zones, and a studio where you can put on a legendary performance. Younger kids can spend some time in the Tot Spot where they will have age-appropriate toys that still engage their minds.
Okay, so let’s talk about those Breckenridge Children’s Museum Kids Night Out programs for a second. These are available for kids ages 3-10. All kids must be potty trained to participate. You will drop them off at the beginning of the evening, and the museum will feed them dinner. While you’re away, your child can do experiments or make their own crafts. They will spend some guided time in the museum exploring the exhibits. Then, they will start to wind down before it’s time for pick-up. Additionally, the museum offers day camps and after-school programs for locals!
If you are looking for a spot where your child can tap into their imagination, you are going to adore Breckenridge Children’s Museum! This one-of-a-kind center is going to make sure your time is nothing short of unforgettable!
